Germany, officially the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundesrepublik Deutschland, is a federal parliamentary republic in western-central Europe. It includes 16 constituent states and covers an area of 357,021 square kilometres (137,847 sq mi) with a largely temperate seasonal climate. Its capital and largest city is Berlin. With 80.7 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous member state in the European Union. After the United States, it is the second most popular migration destination in the world.

De Bondsrepubliek Duitsland (Duits: Bundesrepublik Deutschland), kortweg Duitsland (Duits: Deutschland), is een land in Centraal-Europa. Het heeft een grondgebied van 357.022 km² en grenst in het noorden aan de Oostzee, de Noordzeeen Denemarken, in het oosten aan Polen en Tsjechië, in het zuiden aan Oostenrijk en Zwitserland en in het westen aan Frankrijk, Luxemburg, België en Nederland. Duitsland heeft met 80.996.685 (2014) inwoners de grootste bevolking van alle landen in de Europese Unie. De hoofdstad en grootste stad van het land is Berlijn.
